What is EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a type of therapy that helps people heal from tough experiences like trauma, anxiety, or bad memories.

In EMDR, you think about a hard memory while doing something with your body like moving your eyes back and forth. This helps your brain work through the memory and feel less upset by it. EMDR helps your brain do what it naturally knows how to do: heal.
